Milk allergy usually occurs in infants
when the milk of cow is given to them. Cow milk does not posses
vitamins which we get from mother’s milk. More than 2% babies
are affected by milk allergy. Milk consists of many proteins, fats,
carbohydrates, minerals and vitamins. Approximately 80% of cow milk
contains Casein proteins and remaining 20% contain the whey. Basically,
there are two parts of milk allergy, rapid onset and slow onset.
Milk allergy is out growing the most kids between the ages of 2
to 3 year. Milk allergy usually appears in early infancy. Milk allergy
can affect the digestive system and other systems of body, such
as skin and face.
It is important for
us to know that why milk allergy occurs and what does it mean? There
are many milk allergies, which occur in human being, but the most
important and common form of milk allergy is Lactose (milk sugar)
intolerance. This allergy occurs in the children or adult due to
adverse reaction to cow, goat and sheep's milk. Lactose needs to
be broken down by an enzyme, which is called lactase, to be absorbed
in the children or adult’s body, but some children and adults
actually do not able to produce enough quantity of lactase for this
to happen. Children and adult’s digestive system cannot cope
with raw lactose, so this allergy reacts against it. Whenever this
allergy affects any person, the symptoms will be stomach pain, bloating,
vomiting and diarrhea. |

Nowadays, in most of the persons,
milk proteins are the causes of milk allergy, because their stomach
cannot digest it properly. Many milk proteins are very difficult
for some persons to digest, like casein, which is one of the difficult
milk proteins for humans to digest. The milk proteins which are
difficult for human being to digest are actually crosses from the
stomach wall, causing an adverse immune reaction, contributing to
a host of symptoms.
Most of the people’s
stomach cannot digest the wheat and the symptoms appear very slowly
as compared to milk allergies. It is also very compulsory for us
to note that those children or adults with a milk allergy often
have allergic reactions in their bodies due to goat's and sheep's
milk, although this is not always the case.
