When the immune system of
a person makes a mistake, then food allergy occurs. Immune system
of body protects us from germs and diseases. It makes antibodies
that help to fight against the germs of bacteria, viruses and other
germs that make us sick and weak. If anybody is facing this problem
of food allergies, then it is sure that his/her immune system is
not working well. There are different kinds of food allergies, like
medicine allergies from penicillin, pollen allergy by polluted air
and other food allergies with foods, like peanuts. In year 2006,
a company named FAAN raised funds to control food allergies. There
are more than twelve million children and adults in the world who
have food allergies.
Another
name of food allergy is food intolerance, and almost all persons
get affected at some point with this allergy. Most of the times,
people eat something, and then they feel unpleasant with the reaction
of that food. According to new research, one out of three people
have food allergy. Most of the family members also have food allergies
and it all happens due to unpleasant reaction of different foods
that has necessitated a change in their diet. Another further research
on food allergies tells that 1% of adults and 3% of children have
clinically proved allergic reactions to food. |

It is very important to know
that how do the allergic reactions to food works? Many allergens
exist in different foods and those food components are responsible
for an allergic reaction in the children or adult. These allergic
reactions in the foods are proteins that usually resist the heat
of cooking, the acid in the stomach, and the intestinal digestive
enzymes, and this mechanism of food allergy involves the immune
system and heredity.
There
are many symptoms, which can be seen about the food allergy. Almost
all the food allergy symptoms in a children or adult occur within
a few minutes to an hour, after eating a food. Another great symptom
of food is that, initially the person feels an itching in the mouth
and difficulty in swallowing and breathing. Most of the popular
food symptoms are nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain.
Incidentally, gastrointestinal symptoms are those symptoms which
are most often confused with the symptoms of different types of
food intolerance.
